1 hoop, 1 half-court, 2 teams of 3 players plus 1 sub, 10-minute game, teams driving to the basket and looking to pass every 12 seconds against a backdrop of non-stop music...welcome to 3x3 Basketball!
This is basketball on fast forward, making its debut at Birmingham 2022.
3x3 Basketball is fast-paced and frenetic, where defence turns to attack in the blink of an eye. Top-notch shooting skills are vital as teams attack the same hoop on the shortened court.
The first team to score 21 points wins – if no team has reached 21 after 10 minutes, the team in the lead wins. If scores are level, it goes to overtime where the first team to score two points wins.
