On such an occasion, Commonwealth Sport’s new brand campaign, ‘more in common’ launches to recognise what we all have in common. Commonwealth Sport is 74 nations and territories working together to provide a level playing field, where we can celebrate diversity, see beyond difference, and find common ground.

‘more in common’ will lead the Movement’s overall messaging, illustrating ‘who we are and what we stand for’, demonstrating the Movement’s common purpose bringing to life Commonwealth Sport’s strategic vision, ‘our Commonwealth, united through sport.’

Commonwealth Day also marks the date we transition from a Sports Federation to a Sport Movement, Commonwealth Sport becoming our public name.

Katie Sadleir, CEO, Commonwealth Sport said, “With ‘more in common’, we are bringing people together through the power of sport, reaching out across gender, disability, culture and ethnicity, age and background, sharing support and skills raising awareness and opening pathways for more to succeed in sport.

“The evolution to a Movement that is Commonwealth Sport allows us to demonstrate a stronger, more unified purpose that resonates with our audience on a deeper level.

“It will help us more clearly communicate our role of not only delivering the powerful platform of the Commonwealth Games – which allows us to share success and transform inspiration into impact – but also championing the exceptional work that goes on across our 74 nations and territories every day.

“This transformation enables greater collaboration, more impactful messaging, and an amplified sense of belonging for those who align with our cause.”

The Commonwealth Sport logo with its iconic celebration mark has been in use for some time. The celebration mark captures the triumphant gestures of victorious athletes, speaking to the passion and dedication that drive the Movement. The three coloured V shapes represent our three values, Humanity, Equality and Destiny, rising up to the six points representing our six Regions of Africa, Americas, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, and Oceania, reflecting the rich diversity of our cultures, coming together through the power of sport.

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is the first edition of the Games to incorporate this logo into the event mark.

‘more in common’ chimes with the Commonwealth Secretariat’s theme for Commonwealth Day 2025, ‘Together We Thrive’, that celebrates the enduring spirit of the Commonwealth family united by shared values enshrined in the Commonwealth Charter. Rooted in the principles of family, unity and peace, the theme highlights the importance of fostering strong and connected communities that support and empower their members, enabling meaningful progress.

A busy Commonwealth Day also marks the launch of the Commonwealth Sport King’s Baton Relay at Buckingham Place, starting the relay with 500 days to go to the Opening Ceremony of Glasgow 2026.
