Delegates from 9 European Commonwealth Games Federations (CGAs) attended the meeting, which took place in Westminster, with Regional Vice-President Harry Murphy and CGF President Dame Louise Martin chairing the event.

The CGFs new 10-year Strategic Plan was discussed at length during interactive workshops, led by CEO Katie Sadleir, ahead of its launch next week.

Jeroen Weimar, CEO of Victoria 2026, was also in attendance, providing an update on planning and progress, and taking questions, ahead of the next Commonwealth Games in Australia.

There was a virtual update on the progress of the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, with the event for 14-18 year old athletes now a little more than 50 days away.

Ellen Barwise, CGF’s Director of Development and CGA Relationships, also delivered a presentation highlighting the achievements so far in this area, and unveiling a range of exciting plans for Commonwealth Sport’s Development programmes.

Dame Louise said: “It was wonderful to have so many European CGA representatives in London for what was a thought-provoking and positive meeting.

“Our CGAs are our Members and the lifeblood of Commonwealth Sport, and ensuring that we work together on how we develop and thrive over the next decade is crucial.

“The Games themselves are our flagship event, so I thank both the representatives of Victoria 2026 and Trinbago 2023 for their input. It was also hugely exciting to hear about the plans for our innovative and inclusive development programmes.”

This year's Regional Meetings took place in person for the first time since 2019. Prior to this meeting, the CGF team had already met with African CGAs in Livingstone, Zambia, representatives from Asia and Oceania in Brisbane, Australia, and CGAs in the Americas and Caribbean in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
