The Commonwealth Games are coming to regional Victoria.

Between 17 and 29 March 2026, the streets of Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton and Gippsland – and the stunning landscapes that lie beyond them – will be alive with the buzz of a global sporting event.

It will be the biggest festival of sport, creativity and community that our regions have ever seen.

Our Sporting Program

With 20 competition sports, nine fully integrated Para-sports, and an electrifying festival program, it’s a Games like no other, in a place like no other.

Over one million tickets will go on sale. Millions more spectators will tune in from home as the Games showcase the best of our state to the Commonwealth and the world.

And three new sports will make their Commonwealth Games debut on our jam-packed schedule: coastal rowing, BMX and golf.

There’ll be thrills, spills and magic moments every minute. Check out our full sporting program to find out more.

Our Games

Our five Games cities are directly and conveniently connected by road and rail to Victoria’s main population centre of Melbourne.

They will host our program of 20 sports and nine Para-sports. They’ll also treat you to award-winning bars and restaurants, world-famous produce, sprawling vineyards, fine gardens, historic streetscapes, and so much more.

Regional Victoria is perfect for your next visit, and our Games cities will play the perfect host for the next Commonwealth Games.

Our Community and our Legacy

Victoria 2026 will showcase what makes the people of our state tick: our unity, our diversity, our welcoming attitude and our love of sport.

The Games will also recognise and celebrate the unique history and cultures of our state’s First Peoples, because these stories are part of our collective identity as Victorians.

Like all Commonwealth Games, the legacy of this event will last long after the Closing Ceremony.

Jobs. Opportunities. Economic growth. New sporting facilities. Social and affordable housing. More visitors. More exposure.

This is regional Victoria's moment.
