Martin Reynolds: Director of Strategy and Partnerships
The Strategy and Partnerships department supports a number of pillars of work at the CGF including delivery and overview of the ten-year Strategic Plan; oversight of policies, projects and programmes relating to Social Impact, Athletes Advocacy, Human Rights, Sustainable Development and Commonwealth policy. The team has responsibility for the CGF’s Stakeholder/Partnership strategy and stakeholder engagement framework and review processes, working closely with the wider organisation to ensure a coordinated and effective approach.
The Director has the responsibility for supporting and deputising for the CEO as appropriate and supporting the President on speechwriting and protocol as required.
Mikel Thomas: Athlete Strategy and Engagement Manager
The Athlete Engagement and Strategy Manager is responsible for liaising with the Athletes Advisory Commission and manages any consultants or staff engaged to support the AAC.
The department also works closely with the Governance and Corporate Affairs team and the Development and CGA Relationships team delivering the General Assembly and supporting Staff communications and culture. They are a key contact for the Commonwealth Sports Foundation and support Games hosts across protocol, community engagement, culture and the Baton Relay.
At present, the team comprises one staff member: the Director of Strategy, Legacy and Partnerships. The Athlete Engagement and Strategy Manager will be on board soon and two further recruitments to follow shortly.
